The University of Wisconsin Madison is thrilled to offer an Interdisciplinary Global Health Track. The goal of the Global Health Track is to provide one self-motivated trainee from each class with the opportunity to incorporate global health education and experiences in their residency training.
Possible electives include:
Gambia
Uganda
Ethiopia
In addition to a 3-4 week global health elective during the PGY-3 or PGY-4 year, residents enrolled in the Global Health Track will participate in an annual week-long multidisciplinary conference at the University of Wisconsin Madison that includes didactic sessions, smaller group work, and case-based learning. Additionally, the Global Health Track OB/GYN residents host a regular journal club, in which one resident and faculty mentor lead a discussion about a chosen article related to global health. OB/GYN residents will additionally attend campus seminars and lectures, network with faculty from across the University of Wisconsin campus, and collaborate with colleagues in the US and abroad.
All newly matched interns in OB/GYN can apply for the Global Health Track (contact Alison Klein (alklein2@wisc.edu) for application details). One resident will be chosen by the selection committee to join their PGY2-4 colleagues in the Global Health Track.
